Easy 7-zip Improves 7-zip In Several Ways | Ghacks Technology News

easy-7-zip It is available as a 32-bit and 64-bit version that you can install to your system. While not explicitly mentioned, it is suggested to uninstall 7-zip before you install Easy 7-Zip as the application includes all 7-Zip features. After installation you may notice a new context menu that looks familiar but also a bit different. The first change is that the author has added icons to each context menu option. It is a small thing and you will notice that the icon is displayed in the root folder of the context menu and for all items displayed in the subfolder. What is not so good in my opinion is that it uses the same icon for each entry. The second new feature is that the extraction dialog has been improved. Instead of just displaying the output folder and offering to customize it, you can now select additional options: Open output folder - This loads the folder the files are extracted to after the operation completes.

Compression Performance: 7-Zip, MagicRAR, WinRAR, WinZip - Compression: Your Data, On A Diet

Both are the same algorithm. The only difference is LZMA is limited to 2 threads. LZMA2 is much more threaded, but uses double the amount of RAM. 2. PPMd is strictly for compressing text. It compresses text better than any other algo. But it is limited to 1 core only. 3. WinRar 4.2 is much better threaded than previous versions.
